Wearing this “classic with a twist” coat will be a stylish way to get through the winter months. Fitted through the bodice with flattering princess seams and an empire waist, the coat flares out and then narrows again at the hem to create a unique “lantern” shape. Simple details, such as a rounded neckline, side seam pockets and decorative buttons that cover a snap closure ensure that the unusual silhouette of the coat is the star. Fully lined.

For this version, we played with textures – mixing “blocks” of smooth and shiny taffeta with panels of fuzzy felted wool to create visual interest. It is fully lined in a contrast color, with the same accent color used for the covered snap closures.
